Station upgrade and maintenance work

Montbovon station is undergoing major refurbishment work. Both MOB and TPF are using this work as an opportunity to carry out track geometry correction and maintenance work on the Grandvillard - Montbovon (TPF) and the Montbovon - Château-d'Œx (MOB) lines.

The work

  • Platform refurbishment
  • Upgrade of safety systems, signalling and points control
  • Compliance with disability equality legislation (LHand): widening of platforms and height adjustment for new TPF rolling stock offering step-free access
  • Installation of track underpass
  • Upgrade of visual and audio passenger information systems

Architectural design competition for station canopies

Keen to preserve the typical "chalet station" appearance, TPF held an architectural design competition to find a suitable canopy for Montbovon and Vuadens stations. The winning design by RBCH Architectes Sàrl is light and subtle, bringing a touch of modernity perfectly in keeping with the traditional architecture of these "chalet stations".
