How to find the ticket that is right for you

There is certain to be a ticket that is right for you. Choose from the complete selection - ranging from a single ticket to a travel card.

Ordinary single Frimobil ticket

For occasional journeys, a single Frimobil ticket will allow you to travel freely in the zones you select. The period for which the ticket is valid and its price depend on the number of zones for which it is valid and are all shown on the ticket itself. 
 
Ordinary single Frimobil tickets are available at full fare and reduced fares for journeys in second or first class. They can be bought from TPF ticket offices and ticket machines. 
 
Children under 16 travelling alone and holders of Swiss transport undertakings' half-fare cards are entitled to reduced fares. Price list

 

One-day Frimobil ticket 

To make unlimited journeys in the zones you select, buy a one-day Frimobil ticket. It will allow unrestricted travel within those zones on the day of purchase until the end of services. The fare varies according to the number of zones you select and is shown on the ticket. With effect from three zones, a one day ticket costs the same as two single tickets for the same zones.

Frimobil Travel card 

A Frimobil Travel card will allow you travel without restriction for a week, a month or a year within the zones you choose. And all that at advantageous conditions: the annual card offers twelve months travel for the price of nine. For young people less than 25 years old the prices are even better (a reduction of up to 25% on the normal price). 
 
The Frimobil Travel card is offered in second class for adults and juniors and also as a first class option just for adults. It is sold though ticket offices and certain other TPF sales points (kiosks, etc.) 
 
The junior tariff is available to young people up to the end of their twenty-fifth year. It is necessary to provide a passport photograph and show an identity document when the first travel card is issued. Price list

Tickets for domestic journeys

Tickets for domestic journeys allow journeys to be made beyond the limits of Frimobil. These tickets are valid for a journey between two precisely identified places. The period of validity and the fare vary as a function of the number of kilometres; they are both shown on the ticket. 
 
Tickets for domestic journeys are offered at full fare or reduced fares for journeys in second or first class. They are sold though ticket offices and by some TPF ticket machines (consult the list of destinations shown on each ticket machine). 
 
The reduced tariff is available to children travelling alone up to the end of their sixteenth year and to holders of Swiss transport undertakings' half-fare cards. 
 
 

Season tickets for domestic journeys 

For regular journeys beyond the limits of Frimobil over a period of a week, a month or a year, a domestic season ticket is valid for a journeys between two precisely identified places (although validity via two alternative routes can be arranged). . The fare varies as a function of the number of kilometres. 
 
Domestic season tickets are offered in second class for adults and juniors and also as a first class option just for adults. Fares are particularly attractive for young people less than 25 years old (a reduction of up to 25% on the normal price). They are sold by TPF ticket offices.
 
The junior tariff is available to young people up to the end of their twenty-fifth year. It is necessary to provide a passport photograph and show an identity document when the first season ticket is issued
 
 SwissPass
A single pass for complete access to public transport - With effect from 1 August 2015, just one card, the ‘SwissPass', will cover your entitlement to Swiss public transport (including your abonnement général or half-fare travel card). It will also cover other transport services such as Mobility Car Sharing, rental bikes from PubliBike or SuisseMobilIe as well as access to various ski slopes. Other products will be added in future years.

Group travel
 
Groups of a minimum of ten people making bookings at least forty-eight hours in advance benefit from a reduction of 20%. Furthermore, one free ticket will be issued for every ten  paid for.
