Machines are being used to issue tickets. Several means of payment such as banknotes, coins and the tpf card are accepted. Machines at the more important stops also accept credit cards.
TPF ticket machines are provided with a tactile screen. All machines accept bank notes and coin and give change but at the busiest stations and bus stops the ticket machines also accept credit cards. All the ticket machines are equipped with contactless technology which allows them to read rechargeable TPF cards. They also have a ‘favourite journey' option which allows customers to buy further tickets for journeys they make frequently. Ticket machines, however, do not accept foreign currency.
TPF ticket machines comply with the statutory requirements for operation by handicapped customers.
